A visit from Grandpa & Grandma Valenza

So my parents came a few months ago, I can't believe I haven't blogged about it sooner. They came for a quick weekend, but it was such an awesome visit. We played lots of games, showed them around Port Orchard and Seattle, and just spent some wonderful quality time! It was a blast and we were sure sad that it went by so fast. Lucky for the kids and I, we get to go to California this month to spend more time with them. Isn't family just wonderful!

Collin the shots, This months best Collinisms

  • Tonight during prayers Collin prayed to please bless that the baby will kick soon. And then he later said in the prayer and please bless the baby to be happy and eat his dinner and breakfast. so cute! Think he's excited.
  • Collin and Marissa were in the back of the car arguing saying "mine", "mine", "mine", back and forth. FInally Collin stops and says, "Marissa what are we talking about". ha ha that's what I want to know. They're already fighting over nothing.
  • While singing bedtime songs, I asked Collin what song he wanted. He said, "the one about Jesus as a baby and the gingerbread man house." I could not figure it out and he kept holding fast to the gingerbread man. Finally I figured it out, it was Away in a Manger. ha ha
  • At the grocery store Collin saw brown eggs, very excited he said, "look Mom, chocolate eggs!" He was disappointed when I told him the truth.
  • Collin found an ant in our house during quiet time. He decided to bring it into his room and let him "play". He called him little ant. He was so disappointed when he disappeared. He told me, "little ant is really good at hiding" as we searched for him.
  • Today I was telling Collin something was hard and I wasn't sure if I could do it. He said, "Mom, I know you can do it, cause you have power in your mind." LOVE IT! I think he's my best cheerleader
  • Collin and I were talking about his full name. He has a hard time grasping his middle name and last name. He finally got it. I told him Daddy's full name and he then told me mine: Mommy Michael Brandt. ha ha, I had a great laugh with that!
